Under the motto "Mosel Textile Arts", we invite experienced textile artists from near and far to our rock garden to work and draw inspiration.
The special atmosphere of this location, with its panoramic views over the Moselle valley, combined with the mutual exchange of experiences and ideas, gives rise to intriguing works of art. Artists arrive on Saturday and get to know each other during a wine tasting featuring local wines. On Sunday, they work intensively on their pieces. This year's theme is "Herbs".
The exhibition opens to the public in the afternoon from 12 noon to 4 pm. Admission is free, and everyone interested is warmly invited to view the works. The artists will be available to answer questions and are happy to demonstrate their working techniques. During the exhibition, visitors can join in embroidering a collaborative work that was started at the first Mosel Textile Arts in 2018 and continues to grow each year. In addition to coffee and homemade cakes, wine and herbal lemonade will also be served.
Artists interested in participating should contact our artistic director, Aiga Praulina, by email at aiga@aigapraulina.art. Please introduce yourself and describe your artistic practice. Although we have ample space available so that everyone can find their preferred workspace, the number of participants is limited.
For artists travelling from further afield who need overnight accommodation, we are happy to assist in finding suitable lodging. As Nittel is the largest wine village in the Southern Wine Moselle region, rooms book up quickly, so we encourage early reservations. The village is also accessible by train via the local railway station. The nearest airport, Luxembourg-Findel, is only 30 km away.
